Victoria Island stands still for Glo Laffta Fest.


Trending Afrobeat Star Burna Boy performing to  an ecstatic audience at the Victoria Island Lagos edition of Globacom’s comedy and music concert, Glo Laffta Fest (Season 4), which held at  the Eko Hotel and Suites over the weekend.

Sunday, September 6, 2015 will remain indelible in the minds of Glo subscribers who attended the Laffta Fest comedy show at the Eko Hotels and Suites Victoria Island, Lagos venue of the event. Guests numbering over 6,000 thronged the venue from Victoria Island and environs, to relish top of the range comedy and music.
The list of comedian billed to perform at the show would tell probing minds that the guests were in for a night of unlimited entertainment. The guests roared endlessly with laughter while the comedians performed.
The comedians which include Ace comedian, AY, Bovi, Basketmouth, I go dye, Seyi Law, Funny Bone and Gordons performed beyond expectation, jolting the guests off their seats intermittently. Salvador who arrived from Uganda to perform at the show, blended into the Nigerian comedy sphere with ease. His jokes revolved around Nollywood errors and Nigerian foods.

Musical artistes were not left out of the groove as top Glo ambassadors; Wizkid and Burna Boy performed veritably, eliciting cheers from the enthusiastic crowd. It wasn’t surprising when their fans rushed towards the stage to have a feel of the super stars. The manner in which Basket Mouth introduced the comedians in turns was dramatic and entertaining.
Bovi was outstanding. His style of stand-up comedy was engaging and interactive. He introduced the fastest-fingers game into his show, calling out a set of recharge card digits for the audience to load. He raised the bar when he invited a number on guests on stage to recite the national anthem.

Okey Bakassi was in his best element. He took the show a notch higher later in the evening when he cracked the King Solomon joke. He dexterously dove-tailed his jokes, such that one wouldn’t be aware when he move to another joke.
Also present at the show were Nollywood actors and Glo Ambassadors, Ini Edo and Odunlade Adekola. Other personalisties who attended the show include; comedienne Helen Paul, Dija, Rickardo Banks, Deputy Speaker of Lagos State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Wasiu Eshinlokun Samuel and Commissioner of Police  in charge of Police Cooperative, Dorothy Gimba.
Abeokuta, the rock city, will also have a feel of the comedy show on Sunday, September 13. Other locations are Eagle Club, Surulere, Lagos on September 20; Port Harcourt, September 27; Ikeja, Lagos on October 3; Ibadan, October 11; Ikorodu, Lagos, October 18; Egbeda, Lagos, October 25; Abuja, November 1 and Ijebu Ode, October 8.
Subscribers who wish to attend the show in any of the cities can still attend by using up to N3,000 in a month and sending ‘LOL’ and preferred location of the show to “33001”. For example, ‘LOL Abeokuta” to 33001.
Laffta Fest was launched by Globacom to bring fun and entertainment to millions of subscribers on its network across the country.
