Organizers of IBOM FASHION WEEK Shifts the Date of the Event

The organizers of the much anticipated IBOM FASHION WEEK have announced the postponement of the event from October 2016 as earlier scheduled.

In an official press release from the event’s organizers, they pointed out that ‘’the anticipation of this event has been high. We have received calls from a lot of prospective partners, designers, models, artistes and the general public. We do not intend to lower the standard of the event but rather give the audience a world class event that will match the standard of international fashion shows around the globe.

‘’This being, we had a meeting with our team in Lagos and in Uyo and unanimously agreed to shift the event to a later date. This will enable us work on making it of the standard we aim for and also reflect the logos of the new partners and supporters we have and that will come on board to work with us”.

Speaking further, the release pointed out that the initiative is a private sector effort aimed at generating leverage for the fashion industry in not just Akwa Ibom state but the South-South region. It was noted that several partners, artistes, models and designers had indicated interest to be part of it after the casting and release of the event’s publicity earlier in September this year.

The Ibom Fashion week was scheduled to hold on the 16th and run through to the 17th of October 2016. With this official press statement, the organizers tipped that the new date would be announced and extensive publicity made to generate awareness about it.

The organizers regret every inconvenience caused by the shift of this event but vouches to make it reach the standard it ought to when eventually hosted.

The new date will first be officially announced on the event’s social media handles and extensively on media platforms.
