Zebrudayah, Gordons, meet Professor Johnbull in explosive new episode of Glo Sitcom

Nigeria’s vintage comedian and veteran actor, Chika Okpala, also known as Chief Zebrudaya will show up in this week's exciting sitcom, known as Professor Johnbull . 

Chika Okpala was the star character in the family drama series New Masquerade which ran in the 70’s. His verbosity and peculiar grammar made the program a must-watch in those days. 

According to Globacom, sponsors of the sitcom,  pairing Zebrudaya with the bombastic and highfalutin Professor who goes by the name of the program, promises to be explosive in humour and excitement.

As if these two were not rib-cracking enough, Globacom is bringing the contemporary ace standup comedian, Gordons to the Satirical comedy. 


The show which comes up this Tuesday on NTA Network, NTA International on DSTV Channel 251 and NTA on StarTimes at8.30 p.m., is titled Expensive Ceremonies. A repeat broadcast will be on Friday at the same time and on the same channels.

In the show, the erudite scholar, Professor Johnbull, acted by a top Nollywood star, Kanayo O. Kanayo, upbraids the spendthrift tendencies of people who go overboard while celebrating various milestones. 

Generally, it will expose the follies of extravagant ceremonies in the society. 

According to Globacom, "We cannot deny the fact that spending lavishly on ceremonies is more or less a given culture in the country. The ceremonies are in legion: birthday bash, wedding, naming, funeral, house warming, freedom parties and what have you. With the prevailing economic situation, no time can be more apt than now to sound a note of caution to all to be circumspect in the way they spend money on these ceremonies and that is exactly what Expensive Ceremonies intends to achieve".
