The 4th edition of the GHANA-NIGERIA YOUTH SUMMIT has
held in Accra with a call for young people to remain focused as to achieve
success in life. This year’s event had its theme as 'Raising Selfless &
Impactful Young African Leaders and Entrepreneurs-The Way Forward'.
Several speakers delivered powerful lectures that inspired and motivated the numerous Delegates who gathered for this great event.
Comrade Barry Ndu, Convener of the summit said during the opening remark that Ghana and Nigeria have come a long way since pre-colonial independence hence the need to continuously do things that positions its people on the right track. He asked that Government and Private Individuals offer more support in organizing such intellectual events rather than supporting things that add no value to human existence. He promised that in the coming years, this summit would be replicated in other countries like Nigeria, UK, Canada and everywhere Ghanaians and Nigerians are resident. The essence being to continously offer platforms for citizens of these two countries to continue discussing and preferring solutions to issues that affect them.
Ghana's Minister for youth and Sports, Hon. Isaac Kwame Asiamah during his speech itemized numerous interventions the Government has embarked upon that would benefit the people. He urged the youths not to take peanuts during elections from politicians to the detriment of their well being. He commended the Organizers of the event for their commitment and consistence over the years and promised to give them all the needed support to fulfill their mission in the coming years.

The CEO of Protection Plus Group, Dr. Ubong King told the young people that gathered to take their destinies into their own hands. He said that hunger is God’s gift to man and every determined individual should work hard to become successful as everything that comes into the heart of man can be achieved. His words were full of inspiration as he went down memory lane on how he broke every record and struggled through hard times to become successful.
Wura Ogunrotimi, CEO of Africa Future Matters UK who came all the way from Edinburgh, Scotland to attend the event urged young people to remain focused as they have the key to make Africa work. She highlighted some of the reasons why young people must strive to be successful. She encouraged women never to be intimidated by circumstances but remained committed to being the voice that would the African continent a better place for all. Her passion for young people was clearly seen in her speech delivery as she wooed Delegates with her oratory and passion.
John Armah, CEO of Orios Group, a passionate and enterprising young man told the story of how Africa can get to its destined future if young people can wake up and start doing the right things. Several other speakers included Madam Bridget Dzogbenuku, the Vice Presidential Candidate of PPP during the last election, Barr. Ogochukwu Nweke, Mr. Menson Torkonoo, Board Chairman of ABII National Savings and Loan, George Turnah, Sir Obinna Iyiegbu, CEO of CUBANA GROUP who was represented by his General Manager, Mr. Efe Ejere.
The high point of this great event was the Installation as Patron and Inspiring Personality Award to Sir Obinna Iyiegbu, CEO of CUBANA GROUP who assured of his continuous support to the Organization to ensure they continuously fulfill their vision of projecting the god image of Nigeria in Diaspora. Dr Ubong King was also awarded for his passion for young people and his desire for a better African continent and installed as Grand Patron. George Turnah was also among the Award recipient.
In all, it was a great and exciting event as everyone who attended testified of the impact and proper planning even as they look forward to the next edition in Nigeria.
