MPG’s ‘FATHER & SON GOLF CHALLENGE’ IS CELEBRATION OF HEALTHY FATHERHOOD

McWord Premium Games – MPG, a firm that provides bespoke ideas in the area of management, events, activations, brand recce, public/media relations and publishing; for premium brands that are looking to reaching the exclusive equestrian, golfing, water surface and racket sports communities in Nigeria will be hosting fathers and sons at a golfing challenge, come the 17th and 18th of June, 2017. This event is targeted at celebrating manliness and the healthy patriarch the world longs for, on the weekend of the World Fathers’ Day. The venue is Elephant Cement Club Ewekoro.
The event is packaged as a special golfing weekend getaway for fathers and sons seeking treasurable father/son quality bonding time. The special father/son moments will be specially documented by Ijiyokunola Samuel Photography
The theme is ‘Bespoke Fatherhood’, fatherhood tailored to meet the individual psychological, emotional and material needs of every child in the family - be it male or female. This is why we have decided to tweak the event a little. We acknowledge the fact that some fathers don't have golfing sons but daughters. They are not excluded. They can participate. In the same vein, we do not disregard golfing single mothers who double as father and mother to their children. They are free to take part.

This tweak is to show how much we are in touch with the reality of the world we live in. The emphasis is on the boy-child for the World Father's Day because he is the next father, to whom the ideals and virtues of fatherhood must be passed down.
Segun Moat Bespoke, a celebrity stylist and award-winning fashion designer who clothes Teju Babyface, Sound Sultan Et al, is the sponsor of The Father & Son Challenge. The Father/Son team that wins the 2-day golfing battle will get bespoke suits, one each, from Segun Moat Bespoke. Other sponsors include Acada Magazine and Lafarge Holcim WAPCO Cement PLC.
Speaking on the event, the CEO of MPG, Deji Ajomale-McWord said “this tournament is not going to take usual format many of us golfers are used to. It is in celebration of a special day recognized across the globe and so should everything about the event – unusual. As it is our tradition, we would be giving it the kind of touch that makes it a memorable one for golfers and robust brand visibility, as return on investment for sponsors. Our showmanship has that figured out. Though, the event is taking place on the tranquil estate that provides golfing nirvana, in Ogun State – actually the best kept secret in the southwest – much involvement of the media will make certain that the event and all that identify with it get seen for it, by many more who are not privileged to be at the venue”.

“The fact that we have been mentioning boy all along in this briefing doesn’t necessarily mean that the event is strictly for a 40-year old father and his 12-year old son; an 80-year old can decide to pair his 50-year old son and, why not, beat the younger father/son to it”, he added.
