It was another emotion-laden show, not only for the contestants but also for the studio audience whom have come to give moral support to them. Knowing fully well that two more contestants will bid farewell to the competition tonight.
Meanwhile, the evening started on a note of new chances, with the performances of the Wild Card finalists. After the Google hangout session which held earlier in the week with the three judges choosing the best five from the pool of videos submitted, these contestants were shortlisted and were given a chance to show their stuff live on the show.
Here are the five contestants, the songs they performed and their unique numbers:
40 Anthony ----Micheal Jackson's You are not alone.
70 Henry ------Stuck on you by Lionel Richie.
50 Daniel -----All for one's I swear!
30 Allonyx ------Back at one by Brian Mcknight!
60 Ella ------Adele's Someone like you.
Your votes will determine the top two, one of whom who will eventually join the contestants in the Academy, so keep your votes coming.
Straight on to the elimination show, Yeside Oredugba of Alexander Forbes was invited to come in with the list of contestants with the least votes. The contestants filed on stage with trepidation clearly written on their faces and one after the other, Joseph and Adora called out Ayo, Brenda, Sonia, Kemi, and Grace as the contestants on probation for the evening.
These five repeated the songs they did last weekend but this time around they performed to save their lives from elimination. After successfully pulling through the songs, the Judges saved Sonia for bringing on the extra factor into her performance, faculty saved Ayo and Grace narrowly escaped the claws of elimination by the votes of some fellow contestants whom in their sight she must have found favour.
When asked how they felt about their elimination, Kemi said she felt a bit disappointed but at the same time proud of herself for coming this far. Brenda on the other hand appreciated the faculty and her fans who believed in her and kept their votes coming, she decided to be strong for her mum and promised to be back soon.
But seriously, do you think Brenda and Kemi deserved this elimination at this stage in the competition? Do you think they deserved to have gone farther in the competition? What’s your opinion?
