Mr. Vegas takes “Azonto” from Ghana to Jamaica

Award Winning Jamaican dancehall musician, Clifford Smith also known as Mr. Vegas, has released the official video for his new song “Azonto” remix.

Azonto is a growing music genre in Ghana and a dance originated from a traditional dance called Kpanlogo, associated with the coastal towns in the country.

It begins with one or two step movements but has been advanced to more complex and almost acrobatic movements.

The “Azonto” genre which dominated in most of the songs in Ghana over the last few years, has moved to different countries all over the world and widely accepted due to the ease and funny communications add-ons that it comes with.

The dance has effectively evolved from a few basic moves to miming actions such as ironing of clothes, washing, driving, boxing and praying among other.

Mr Vegas’ “Azonto” video captures young men and women doing their own style with the purpose of exhibiting the “Azonto”.

The “Tamale” hit singer added his ragga and dancing skills to make the music video the best.
