CEO, Sky Pavillion, Mr Tunji Sunmonu, Mr Sunday Omobolanle alias Aluwe, Glo Business Director, Ogun, Mr Ayo Ogunranti, Ogun SSG, Barrister Taiwo Adeoluwa, Mr Latin, Bolaji Amusan and Ogun State INEC Commissioner, Hon Oyediran Aina at an afternoon of comedy, music and drama at Laffta Fest organized by Glo at OK Centre, Abeokuta on Sunday

Thousands of residents of Abeokuta, capital of Ogun State in South West Nigeria had the best time of their lives as the cream of Nigeria's stand up comedians descended on the  city with the best arsenal in their joke armoury.
At the event which held at the OK Events Centre, Ibara Housing Estate on Sunday in the Rock City, ace comedian, Bovi Ugboma, and humour merchant, Sheyi Law held the capacity crowd that thronged the venue captive with high calibre humour.
Bovi, who also acted as the master of ceremony started off by giving out free airtime to fast-fingered fans who attempted to load the recharge PINs as Bovi read them out. Of course he spiced all these with humour and jibes. Bovi was certainly in his elements on Sunday.

Other comedians also performed at the star-studded event. They included Cyril Ugege, aka Osama, Memory Card, Odogwu, Omo Baba, Bashiru Adekunle alias Bash and Seyi Law while Reekado Banks serenaded attendees with his popular songs enthusiastically rendered like anthems by all.

The duo of Sunday Omobolanle alias Aluwe and Bolaji Amusan, Mr. Latin delivered a hilarious drama skit to heighten the excitement.
There was also a dancing competition for fans which added to the delight of the audience. An HND 2 Accounting Student of Moshood Abiola Polytechnic, Olamide Olabode and a Real Estate agent, Adedayo Ogunyemi won the competition.
This concert of comedy, music and drama packaged by Globacom for its esteemed subscribers was described as a veritable initiative designed to promote harmony, reduce stress and teach good citizenship in the society.
The Ogun State Government, (SSG), Barrister Taiwo Adeoluwa and other attendees of the Glo Laffta Fest organized for residents of Abeokuta and environs expressed this view.
Adeoluwa expressed delight that Globacom brought the show to Ogun State, adding that Laffta Fest had added value to the programmes of the Ogun State government as evidenced from the thrusts of the various performers who taught morals and etiquette by condemning vices in their jokes.
“Globacom is doing remarkably well in Corporate Social Responsibility programmes and we are very proud of Dr. Mike Adenuga.  A gathering like this is very good as it encourages our youth to invest their time in productive ventures rather than vices like cultism,” the Ogun SSG observed.
Also speaking in an interview, an Editor with the Ogun State Broadcasting Corporation, OGBC, Mr. Biodun Ogundipe said residents of Abeokuta had long craved for a show like the Laffta Fest, especially because of the extant restrictions on movement.
Another attendee who spoke to our reporter, Mr. Yinka Adelowo said the objective of the programme was to change people’s mood by lifting their spirits from the doldrums, adding that this was the first time he was attending a show of that magnitude in Abeokuta, the capital of Ogun State.

According to another resident of Abeokuta who is a Glo ambassador, Odunlade Adekola, the Laffta Fest confirms Globacom’s second-to-none status in the telecommunications industry, adding, “I give it to Glo for spreading joy all over the country. For recording this impressive crowd in Abeokuta known for conservatism, big ups for Glo.”
Sixty-six year old Mrs. Rachael Opaleye said she thoroughly enjoyed herself, while a civil servant, Mrs. Adekoya Folasade said she was impressed with the smooth organization and relaxing ambience of the venue.
The Laffta Fest train will track to Surulere this Sunday.  Subscribers who wish to attend the show in any of the cities can still attend by using up to N3,000 in a month and sending ‘LOL’ and preferred location of the show to “33001”. For example, ‘LOL Surulere” to 33001.
