The
Economic and Financial Crimes Commission of Nigeria, EFCC, had recovered a
house alleged to have been owned by former Minister of Petroleum Resources,
Mrs. Diezani Alison Madueke. The house
is in Asokoro area of Abuja and is worth about 18 million dollars with furnishings
worth about 2 million dollars and a bulletproof gymnastic.
The
anti-graft agency, EFCC showed the recovered house and property in an interview
with Al Jazeerah.
Also
displayed in a video coverage were jewelries and money in bags reportedly
recovered from other corrupt past government officials.
Speaking
during the interview with Aljazeera, the EFCC Chairman, Ibrahim Magu said, “We
have been able to take on a lot of big shots that were hitherto untouchable in
the three arms of the military, political class. We have recorded 164
convictions in just one year.”
The video
of the $18million house with the $2million worth of furnishings, plus a
bulletproof gym that was seized from Diezani is shown.
